The Parents area shows you:

• Which math skills your child has been practicing
• How many adventures they've completed and time spent
• The storybook keepsakes they've earned

We collect as little as we can — and you're in charge of it

What we collect from your child:

• A first name (or nickname — last name is not required)
• Their chosen grade level
• Their answers to math problems, to adjust difficulty
• Which adventures they complete, to build their storybook keepsakes

What we do NOT collect from your child:

• Full name, address, phone number, email
• Photos, voice recordings, or biometric data
• Location, device identifiers used for advertising, or third-party tracking IDs

What we do with it:

• We use your child's answers only to adjust the math Wondika shows them next.
• Neither we nor our AI providers train models on your child's answers or adventures.
• We never sell, rent, or trade child data.

How we verify you're the parent (Verifiable Parental Consent — COPPA §312.5):

We confirm you're the parent through your App Store or Google Play account — your store already verified you as an adult when you set up payment, and every entry point in Wondika is gated by the parental gate plus the store's own authentication. Your child has no independent way to create an account or subscribe. (This approach is consistent with the FTC's approved VPC methods under 16 CFR §312.5(b)(2), including the online-payment-system method.)

Your rights under COPPA (16 CFR §312.6):

• Review — see everything we have about your child anytime in the Parents area, or by emailing us.
• Delete — permanently erase your child's profile and data with one tap in Parents → Profile settings, or by emailing us. We begin deletion immediately and complete it within 30 days.
• Refuse further collection / withdraw consent — pause your child's profile (Parents → Profile settings → Pause profile) to stop new data collection immediately, or cancel your account for a full withdrawal with permanent deletion.

How long we keep data (retention schedule):

• Active profiles: we retain your child's profile data while the profile is active, so the app can resume adventures and show you progress.
• After deletion: all child data is removed from our primary systems within 30 days and purged from encrypted backups within 90 days.

Third-party services that help us run Wondika:

• AI generation: OpenAI and/or Anthropic APIs to compose scenes and challenges. Neither provider trains on API inputs; neither receives any personally identifying information about your child.
• Text-to-speech audio: we use a speech synthesis service that receives narration text only — never your child's name or answers.
• Payments: Apple App Store and Google Play. Your child never interacts with billing.
• Cloud hosting: our servers run on commercial cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest.

Where data is stored (international transfers):

We store your child's data on cloud infrastructure in the United States. If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region with data-transfer requirements, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards to protect the transfer.

AI is a tool — your child's safety is the product

• Every illustration, scene, and line of narration passes content moderation before your child sees it.
• Our AI models are prompted with strict guardrails: no violence, no scary content, no inappropriate language, no topics unsafe for kids.
• Your child's data never trains any AI model. Wondika's AI draws from a curated library of characters, worlds, and story structures — not from your child.
• Our character and world catalog is human-reviewed before it ever reaches production.
• If your child ever sees something that concerns you, tap "Report" inside the story. We review every report within 24 hours.
